Item Description

Get the feel and touch of non-coated strings with the long life and like-new sound of coated strings with the Elixir Anti-Rust Nanoweb coated guitar strings.

Elixir’s ultra-thin Nanoweb coating keeps contamination from getting into the windings of your guitar strings and causing corrosion that will deaden their sound and shorten their lives. That lively tone of new strings will last longer and you’ll spend less time and money on changing and buying strings. Elixir doesn’t just coat the wrap wire with its Nanoweb treatment, but instead treats the entire string for extra protection. But the thinness of the Nanoweb coating means the string feels like a traditional non-coated string.

Just read the reviews and you’ll see that your fellow musicians are raving about how the Elixir Nanoweb coated strings last longer and keep sounding like new.

Choose from a wide selection of gauges of the Elixir Nanoweb strings. Or, see the entire range of Elixir strings in Strings and Beyond’s huge inventory of guitar strings.

Hard to beat!
Elixir are my go to strings for most of my basses so when I got my first electric guitar, I had to try them on too and they are equally fantastic!

Best cleans
I usually purchase these for guitars I use in songs that have a lot of cleans. Something about the tone. Love it!!
ProsLast long. Don't rust easy. Sound good.
ConsSome pickups don't create best distorted tones with these.

Often imitated, never duplicated.
No other coated string comes close. They all corode like regular strings. I've left nanowebs on guitars in excess of a year at times and it never happens. Eventually they'll wear out, but they never get gross and uncomfortable. And they feel better than any string I've ever tried!

Best Strings Around!
These are the only strings I use on my guitars. Normal strings rust so quickly, and these last for a long time. They sound, and feel great. Highly recommended!

I keep going back to Elixirs.
I've played all sorts of strings, but Elixirs have been a mainstay of my rig for most of my gigging life now. Sound good, feel good, last longer. No other string works for me as well as they do.

Amazing Durability, Clarity & Longevity
Wow! These strings are amazing! Right out the box they stretch and adjust almost instantaneously with very little detuning. I haven't seen that in strings in a long time. The clarity on these strings is the same from the day you put them on till months later. I have had my strings on now for 4 months (granted i play my guitar every other day) and the look, feel and clarity are the same from the day i put them on. I love these strings, straight up!! Times are hard and i don't have the money to be buying strings every 2 or 3 weeks for my 10 guitars so these Elixirs are life savers!! Don't hesitate and get these strings, trust me, you won't regret it.
ProsLongevity Clarity Durability Amazing Feel

By far the best coated strings!
Elixir are the best coated strings. They last much longer and the tone may be sound a little "muted" when in comparison with other uncoated strings, but the cost/benefit it's awesome! Another point worth mentioning is that because of the coating, the Elixir strings seems to feel a little "tighter" than uncoated strings, but this may be a good thing for some players. :)
Pros- Lasts longer - Excellent cost/benefit - Good overall tone - Keeps tuned
Cons- Little "muted" tone when comparison with uncoated strings - The strings may feel a little "stiffer" than uncoated strings (but this may not be a problem and may be even desirable for some players)

Great tone, feel and longevity
I used to play mostly ernie ball 9s, sometimes few different D'Addario models. Decided to try these as I love their acoustic strings. They seem to have less tension than most other brands and models I tried, they are easy to bend and don't hurt fingers. Coating makes them feel different, almost like they are lubricated, but not too much. Makes it easier to glide across the fingerboard and reduces noise. That also means that they are not as good for intentional pick screech effect compared to uncoated strings. Tone is very clear, piano like. They made my humbucker equipped guitar sound a touch more like a good fender strat. So far I love them. Coating should make them last longer which is an added bonus.
Proslong life, clear tone, good feel (once you get used to it), lower tension
Consa bit pricey

survive even in string hell
I live near beach in hot, humid and salty Thailand. Absolute murder on strings and anything metal. I have tried all brands of extended life strings here, and Elixirs stand head and shoulders above the rest. First got some on used Reverend I bought on trip to USA. Didn't know what brand, but kept wondering "When are these going to blow off guitar? Why no rust???". Finally figured they had to be Elixirs after much time and expense wasting.
ProsIf they can survive here, they can survive anywhere, except maybe Venus. And keep their tone.
ConsA tad more money.

Always excellent
What can I say about Elixir strings? I've been using them for almost 10 years now and I never looked back. I like the feeling, their durability and even the sound is good to my ears, which is a point of contention amongst guitarists. Highly recommended
ProsDurability, far greater than anything else
ConsA wee bit pricey, but not that much honestly

And good on Acoustic Archtops too!!
I use these (12-52's) on my 2 Acoustic Archtops, as I prefer the reduced string noise, as well as the longer life. The tone is less bright than the Bronze options
ProsLess string noise Longer lasting
