Really great strings!
February 10, 2021
I used Spectrum .12s about 12-15 years ago because my guitar tech had them in his shop. I always thought they were better than anything else I had used. It's been years since he stopped selling them, but I recently decided to try some Spectrums again. They are every bit as great as I remember!

I had RC strings on one of my six-strings, thinking they would last. They didn't. The wound strings were dead in a month.

But I remembered how good those Spectrums were. Great sound, and they always outlasted any other strings I tried, despite not using RC or any other gimmick. Now they're back on an acoustic here, and I find that I really want to play that thing. It sounds so good. I don't know what T-I does to these things, but they're really good strings. I'll never waste my money on RC strings again. For a little more that those cost, I can also get T-I Spectrum, and the sound will be better.
Pros
  • --Sound
  • --Longevity

Great strings for vintage flattops

Have used these strings off and on for about a decade. IMHO, they impart a warm "vintage" sound on my old Martin and Gibson acoustics and last surprisingly long. Your mileage may vary.

Great Strings
September 24, 2020
I have tried almost every guitar string made and TI's are the best. I recently bought a new Taylor Grand Auditorium. It sounded great with the Elixirs that came on it, but I immediately changed them with TI SB111. I was blown away by the improvement in sound and playability.

Elixirs are good strings, as were most acoustic strings I have tried, but TI's are better. They cost more, but life is too short not to have good tone.
Pros
  • Great tone and feel
Cons
  • More expensive, but last longer
