Best Capo for Flat Radius 12-string
June 18, 2017
This capo is exceptionally light and easy to use. It is the only capo that works with my '64 Guild f212. The neck profile on that guitar is almost flat (back of the neck) and the fretboard is 2" wide at nut with no radius: essentially a classical fret board on a rather flat neck. I tried another well-known brand but it would fly off while playing due to the curvature of the arm of the capo that presses against the back of the neck. The Planet waves capo maintains the pressure and keeps the 12-string in tune. I use Planet Waves capos almost exclusively on all of my guitars. They aren't fancy to look at: they do the job well without interfering practically or visually.
- Light-weight. Works well on an f212. Simple to use. Good price-point for an item that may be left behind at a gig and lost.
