Not for me, but it must be subjective.

I've played a variety of electric and acoustic guitars for over 50 years, and am disappointed with these strings. They seem hard to play for a set of 11's, too stiff, less responsive, and need a more aggressive string attack. They do have a bolder sound, which I guess is ok if you mostly strum while you sing. Must be subjective.

I have been using Martin SP Phosphor Bronze strings for about 15 years now, and use little else. Some friends occasionally suggest I try another (usually more expensive) brand, and I used to follow their suggestions, but now I don't bother.
Bottom line here is that for sound and durability, these are the best strings out there; especially considering they are still cheap!

Excellent strumming strings
November 30, 2018
I tried these strings on two guitars and found they worked best on a Super Jumbo for strumming.

With that said, these strings allowed me to drop the action a bit from other brands, and seemed to project much better in terms of volume.

In addition to this, I found no noticeable deflection during playback, and the strings seems to keep a consistent sound over a week of playing on a daily basis.
Pros
  • Well controlled string oscillation
  • Little to no deflection
  • Sound quality well maintained
  • Above average volume /sound dynamic
Cons
  • none
