Item Description

A small but mighty sound.

Martin Ukulele strings offer a high tensile strength core wire to hold tunings longer and improve harmonic output for consistent true tone.

"Fluorocarbon is used specifically for our M630 Ukulele strings. The density of this material is higher than traditional nylon and produces stronger and richer tone." -

Martin M630 Clear Fluorocarbon Modified True Nylon Baritone Ukulele Strings offer a rich, amplified tone. The fluorocarbon strings allow less elongation and therefore resist tone loss from stretching due to tuned-to-pitch tension providing longer play between tunings.

Martin & Co. designs and manufactures the strings themselves. Like their guitars, each string is made with patience, care, and precision with only the highest quality materials producing strings with exacting tone and superior performance. Not only are their packaging materials minimized and 100% recyclable, but the envelopes reduce the tarnishing effect on the strings.

A nice discovery
September 14, 2014
I purchased these strings on a whim mainly due to the fact that I love the Martin soprano\concert sets so much. I was very pleased with the sound. Much like the M600's these strings tuned up easily and stabilized quickly. I installed them on another solid mahogany Silvertone baritone uke that I own and so far am pleased with the results. Very balanced sounding, brighter than nylon but not harsh sounding by any means. I'm not a fan of wound strings, I usually swap them out for flatwounds because I like the feel and lack of noise of them, but I'm not too offended with the sound of the D & G strings that come with this set. There is some finger squeak but not as much as you would expect. If you're mainly a fingerpicker then the low string may be a bit too light for clean low end response. Perfect for a strumming however. Since I do both (strumming and fingerpicking) the Silvertone with the Martin's is now my main strumming uke.
  • Very balanced sound
  • Tunes and stabilizes quickly
  • Not too much squeaking on the the wound strings
  • Wound strings may be too light for fingerpickers or aggressive strumming.
