Puts light gauge strings out of tune
December 11, 2019
I own other Kyser capos for 6 string guitars with both medium and light gauge strings and have never had problems. My 12 string is a Breedlove 12 Exotic Pursuit with light gauge strings. The capo spring is too strong and stretches some of the octave strings, particularly, the E12, out of tune. I am constantly having to retune after use. Perhaps, once broken in, may be better. However, I will be looking for another capo that presses the octave strings cleanly without stretching them.
Pros
- Well made, typical Kyser quality, suitable for one-handed operation.
Cons
- Stretches some octave strings, especially E12, out of tune. Constant retuning required.
