Great lower cost alternative to Flatwounds!!!
Been using only D'Addario XL Chrome Flatwoundss for over 20 years, cost to keep replacing flatwounds on all my guitars getting pretty pricey. So I tried other lower priced semi- flat etc.. strings and they all sucked. Until now!!! Been using these as lower cost alternative for half of my guitars. Closest thing I've found with good tone at half the cost of the Flatwounds. Long lasting, just like flatwounds if your using them with Floyd trem as they are smooth across the saddles.
ProsCost Custom Gauge Sets Great Quality / Tone

The Best!
I've tried many different strings and I always come back to ghs NICKEL ROCKERS. Everything about these strings are good and right. The tone, longevity, and purity make it the perfect string for the style of music I play which ranges from traditional blues to screaming Texas blues and classic rock in The Hallelujah Blues Band. I love that fact the each individual string is sealed with nitrogen instead of oxygen. It's good for guitar players to be on a quest for certain products, especially strings, to find what they are looking for. So go ahead and try other brands but this is the one to compare other brands to.

Great feel and tone!
I've been using these strings for years. Used to use nickel wound roundwound strings and I'm never going back! They're a great choice for blues and rock and I highly recommend them.

Great Strings.
I tried these and wow, what a great set of strings. They last a long time, and have less finger noise due to the semi flat windings. The tone is really good too, warm without sounding dull.
ProsLong lasting, low finger noise, great tone.

The right "in-between"
I love the sound of flatwounds, since I play 50's and 60's music, but still want some roundwound bite and flexibility. These strings fill the perfect gap! And happy to order them from Strings And Beyond!
ProsWarm, but with a bite.
ConsNot bright like nickel wounds.

Right combination
These strings combine perfectly attack, treble and bass and reduce all the squicks and noises that roundwounds have, allowing you to slide or use fuzzes or any gain stage in a proper way.

I'm a convert...
I've experimented with gauges and brands for as long as I've been playing, and felt I always had to compromise tone and feel. Well not anymore! These give me that slightly stiffer feel and fat tone without having to go up another size. They also seem to hold their tuning really well. If you like more of a new, but barely broken in string sound, you'll like 'em! Produced a lovely sound and feel on my tele and my PRS with p90s. If you still want a bigger gauge, try the Eric Johnson sets!

Not just for rockers
Don't be fooled by the "Rocker" in its name, Nickel Rockers work exceedingly well for all music genres from classical fingerstyle to heavy metal. These rollerwounds fall somewhere between true stainless flatwounds and regular wound strings, yielding less finger/fret noise while providing a good snappy tone.
ProsLess finger/fret noise, great tone, good price.
ConsNothing to dislike!
