Very Near Perfect for Acoustic Amplification
This pick up is very nearly perfect (well, that is a big statement). I'll qualify, it's among the best I've tried - including LR baggs m-80, m-1a, Element Active, anthem, most of the Fishman mag pickups, and tons of under saddle, and under sound board (Taylor es2, K&K). I could live with this pickup as my one and only, except for one (personal) major thing - no volume control onboard. For a nearly $300 pickup, with condenser mic, having no volume control was the deal breaker. Sound = excellent, blending possibilities right on board. So much to love - you may love it too. Fishman did a great job with this one.
ProsSounds great Condenser mic blend is super addition doesn't take much space (visually) installs "permanantly" to endpin jack Can split the pick up and mic signals at the jack with a "stereo" cable Battery lasts a long time
ConsNo volume control on board Battery replacement is not fast - have to remove pickup from body (not the end pin, just pickup) No height adjustment for magnetic pickup.

Amazing pickup!
I bought a second Rare Earth Blend, I also have LR Baggs M80 and Seymour Duncan Mag Mic and REB works much better for me without any EQ'ing. Changing batteries requires removing the pickup and that's something you don't want to do on a stage. I soldered a CR2 battery which is pretty small and gives you around 500 hours of piaying so I don't have any issues with that anymore!
ProsTerrific sound, pickup is pretty lightweight
ConsNo volume/tone control, short battery life

Reliable authentic sound
This is a great pick up for hassle free plug and play. Its more reliable than some under saddle units and an easier fit.
The mic lets your real sound through, reinforced by the humbucker. I'd recommend it highly even though its a little more expensive than some.
My only problem with it is the unnecessarily long cable, which I cut a meter out of and still had plenty. This probably ruins any warranty claim I might have, and some people might not want to take that chance.
