Item Description

The Fishman Neo-D Magnetic Soundhole Passive Acoustic Guitar Pickup uses the same cutting-edge neodymium structure providing excellent string-to-string balance while the pickup's low profile, high impedance design does not require a battery.

While both the Single Coil and Humbucking models both offer phenomenal accuracy and musicality, the Single Coil offers a brilliant and articulate single coil sound, while the Humbucker delivers a warm, more natural acoustic tone.

Of The passive/magnetic PIckups - this is the one!
I have tried many, many acoustic guitar pickups - and the Fishman Neo-D passive is one of the only (Magnetic/passive) ones that is still acoustic sounding and needs minimum processing. It's my go to for emergency situations, or if I have an acoustic guitar that needs a pickup - quick! I work in a setting where I've used it in many guitars, when they didn't have one - and it's very versatile. Not the best "Forever" pickup - but very very useful!
ProsNo power/battery needed Can be installed quickly - temporary (or more Permanently, if desired). Simple to use Offers fairly acoustic sound right away (min processing) Quiet Inexpensive
ConsNo volume control Not as good of an acoustic sound as other powered pickups, which include a pre-amp.

Amazing value, great tone
I've used both the single coil and humbucking model of this pickup in everything from cheap Epiphones to Taylor 110's to my Larrivee L03 and L09 with amazing results. Both models are equally good at different applications - The single coil does have some hum and less output than the humbucker model, but really shines for blues when plugged into a Fender Champ or Pro Jr. The humbucker is a great all-around acoustic tone that works better with acoustic-specific amps like the Genz Benz and Fishman amps, and equally well through a PA. Can't go wrong with either for the price and easy installation.

Pleasantly Suprised
I bough one of these packages so I could put the pickup on an old Epiphone I have. With 15% off came to approx $33. The old Epiphone is actually a pretty good sounding guitar but I didn't want to use my Sunrise, K and K mini, Lace or other misc pickups I have around or in other guitars. So taking $15 off the paid price for the 3 pack of strings i paid $18 for this pickup shipped to my door. I had a new Fishman Platinum pre-amp to run it through and it actually sounds amazing. For a sound hole pickup, it picks up the nuances of the old Epiphone and has plenty of volume with pre amp. I may just grab another one to keep around for friends to use. I have had lots of pickups for my acoustic guitars in 52 years of playing. Is this the best, no BUT by far the best for the money...and right up there with some $100 plus pick ups..
ProsLight weight No battery Articulate Easy install
ConsFor $18, absolutely none

Fishman Neo-D 02 Humbucker: Great Acoustic Soundhole Pickup!
The Fishman Neo-D 02 soundhole pickup is an outstanding passive soundhole pickup for acoustic guitars. It excels on all-Mahogany guitars, is very quite, and colors the tone just slightly, with a warm, classic "pickup bite". A very good value!

Spend the extra $ on the Humbucker...You'll be glad you did!
Pros* Great tone! * Nice, low-profile appearance. * Excels on all Mahogany guitars. * Very good value.
Cons* Very low output, even for a passive pickup. Using in conjunction with a preamp is recommended. * Mine came with one of the set crews missing, but thanks to excellent customer support from Strings & Beyond I had a replacement from Fishman in less than a week.

Fishman Neo-D.
Not bad sound but noisy. Partly I think it happens because of low quality cable. It
In product video everything is ok but the one I got is noisy.
