My Favorite Strap Locks. The Original and Best Design
September 11, 2018
I've tried lots of different brands of strap locks - these, Schallers, Loxx, Ernie Ball etc.
These are by far my favorite. They fit a wider variety of straps than the competition, for example the Schaller's threaded part is often too wide to fit the holes in a lot of straps, and too short to accommodate thick leather straps. The locking mechanism is great and has never failed me once on a variety of heavy guitars. The best part of all is that the Dual-Design pins that mount on the guitar are very usable as standard strap buttons - if you forget your strap with the locking mechanism and need to use a regular strap without the locks they're quite wide and very secure. Can't say the same with any of the other brands I've mentioned. There's nothing worse than spending your whole gig worrying about your strap slipping off of the puny schaller buttons. Another thing to mention is that the screws they supply are vastly longer, wider, and therefore more secure than most other brands. I can't tell you how many times I've seen Schaller screws come loose and rip out of the guitar while playing. Anyone I've known that uses them is constantly re-tightening the screws because they just won't stay put. I've never had to worry about that with these Dunlops.
- More Inexpensive and Better than the Competition.
- Strap buttons work well if you forget your locking strap.
- Supplied screws are the most secure out of any straplock system
