Item Description

Shubb Deluxe Capo for 12-String Guitar - S3 (or any steel string guitar with a wide fretboard) Stainless Steel

It's everything the original Shubb Capo is, and more! Crafted of stainless steel, its roller mechanism provides ultimately smooth operation. When the Shubb Capo was first introduced in 1980, capos were elevated to a whole new level. In 1998 the Shubb Deluxe pushed the envelope again. How could the original Shubb capo be improved?

Material: Stainless steel resists wear and nicks. It will look as beautiful years from now as it does today.

Ergonomics: The restyled lever is easier to handle while opening and closing.

Design: The new roller further reduces wear, while adding smoothness to the opening and closing action. The roller engages in a track, ensuring precise alignment.

Geometry: The closing action is more uniform, closing with the same feel and requiring less adjustment between thicker and thinner parts of the neck

Great for 12-String Guitar
For over 20 years, I have used a regular 6-string Shubb capo on both my Martin J40M 6-string and my Guild F412 12-string (because the neck on the Guild 12-strings is so narrow). Finally, after over two decades of use, the screw in the back dug into the bar a little to much and it was becoming difficult for me to remove the capo. It still works fine with my Martin. Upon investigation, I discovered that Shubb has implemented many new design features which make applying and removing the capo so much more smoothly and easily. I frequently capo on the third, fifth, and even seventh frets, and this capo does not fail to perform. I highly recommend. Go ahead and spend the extra few bucks--it's worth it!
ProsStrong, accurate, no tuning aberrations.
ConsNone.

Best capo for 12 string available
I've tried pretty much every capo made for a 12-string guitar, and nothing works better for me than this Shubb. The Kyser 12-string model didn't have enough tension for all strings. I use this capo regularly when playing at my church, and I've never had a problem between songs moving or removing, so even though it isn't as fast as some other capos, it does the job nicely and I never have to worry about retuning after putting on the capo. Highly recommended.
ProsNo tuning required after applying the capo. Adjustable tension, so it isn't a one-size-fits-some device. Looks cool and holds up over time. Shubb customer service is exceptional if you ever need parts or help.
ConsNot really a con, but if you like to put the capo on the headstock when not in use, you can't really do that with a Shubb.
