Best I've used
I was about to lay down the money for a BlueChip but wanted to give the Wegen one more try. I've used the 1.0 Bluegrass before and liked it but as looking for more volume, no pick noise. I started using a larger 1.5 Dunlop primetone but was getting some pick noise. I love my BC 35 bus can't seem to go back to the thinner pick. Got these and couldn't stop playing. Very loud! Love the texture and the grip is great. If your a bluegrass flatpicker give em a try.
ProsLoud Grip Cheaper than alternative high end picks
ConsMore expensive than normal picks but you get what you pay for!

Great picks!
These picks are a perfect combination of practicality and quality. Great tone, comfort, and playability, while the perforations make losing your pick a thing of the past. Highly recommended.

Grown To Like Them
So...I am a fingerpicker who has been trying out flatpicking and crosspicking for some bluegrass jams. Based on other reviews I thought I'd give these Wegen picks a try. At first I wasn't all that impressed...but I think that was more due to my inexperience than the picks. I kept playing with them and now I really really like them. BTW my husband who plays rhythm with a flatpick loved them from the start.

The best
I have been trying the typical 1 mm nylon pick for years. Then I started trying lots of different picks, but this one beat them all. Clear, not too bright, not too mellow, clear bassy sound, good volume. Definitely worth the price.
ProsGreat tone and volume.
ConsIt might take a while to get used to it if you are used to more flexible picks.

Great for acoustic and electric guitar
I have used these picks for years on my Broadway shows. Always reliable, versatile and have a great sound on any instrument. I first came across Wegen picks when looking for a Gypsy Jazz pick and happened to see they also did this Bluegrass style which I bought on a whim really. Glad I did. I still experiment with picks but keep coming back to these Wegen Bluegrass guys. I use the 1.0 and the 1.2. Highly recommended!!

Wegen 1.4mm
Wegens may not my favorite picks, but they're of good quality and are less expensive than the "top shelf" picks that put a huge dent in the ol' wallet. Therefore I find myself buying these regularly and keeping them around for emergencies. My "go to" pick is a Dragon's Heart, second place goes to Blue Chip, and third would be firmly occupied by Wegen. They sound good and grip well, and that's enough for Ol' Daver to endorse'em. And Sir, you can take that to the bank!
ProsGood grip, good sound. True and honest.

Wegen Bluegrass pick
Awsome pick.....solid grip, great sound.
My favorite. They dont wear out.
I started with the 1.4's but like the 1.0 a bit more. These picks dont have a lot of flex like a typical plastic pick they are stiffer sound great and last forever.
ProsFantastic Grip Dont wear out Great tone on acoustic

Wegwn Bluegrass 1,4 mm.
After I few years ago I tried to play Wegen, I can't play nothing, but them. Very crisp and clear sound. The guitar sounds more tightly. After Wegen take the hands of another mediator, you want again and again to take Wegen. Many say that it is very expensive - no and no again!!!
ProsQuality workmanship, very good sound, very comfortable.

Best Picks I've Ever Used!
I've been using these in a 1.4 mm for about five years for acoustic and some electric and have no complaints. I've been playing since 1965 and they are hands down the best picks I've ever owned. You'll likely lose them before you wear them out.
ProsLong lasting Good grip Mellow tone

Great pick for bluegrass flatpicking
I use the wegen trimus 250 and Guzz skinny for jazz playing but this bluegrass wegen pick can't be beat for that snappy flatpicking tone. You can hear a big difference when comparing them side by side on the same dreadnought. Best pick I have ever used in over 44 years of flatpicking.
ProsTone and ease of playing

Wegan Bluegrass Picks
Amazed! A fullness AND a nice crisp edge all in one pick. I can FEEL the difference the way my guitar vibrates. I bought the 1.0 because I'm used to a Blue Chip TD35 but I bet the 1.2 would work just as impressively. Love the sound.

New favorite!
I previously used D'Andrea Pro Plecs, and while they're a great value and sound pretty good, they were too muted for my taste. These 1.4mm Wegens are perfect; crisp and clear, bright but not tinny sounding, and they feel great when contacting the strings, something I hadn't noticed with picks before. Bluegrass is my preferred genre.
ProsGreat tone and feel Not overly pricey

Wegen Bluegrass 1.2
These are superb - easy to hold, work for all styles, easy to manipulate for warm or crisp tone.
