Item Description

The Savarez Cristal Corum high-tension strings are a clear choice for your classical guitar. They get their “Cristal” name from the transparency of the nylon treble strings. This clarity is made possible through the use of an improved form of nylon and Savarez’s high-tech manufacturing methods that use laser beams and photoelectric cells to monitor the precision and consistency of the string’s gauge. This computer-controlled method results in a transparent string with a perfectly true intonation and a smooth surface for optimal feel. These strings are now used in all Savarez sets that include nylon trebles.

The silver-plated wound bass strings received their own share of innovation, too. Savarez has perfected manufacturing techniques that give these bass strings unmatched flexibility with fast answer. This performance is accomplished by reducing the internal friction of the strings. This allows the string to produce a more extended sound and an increased sound level with less vibration.

Buy your classical guitar strings at Strings and Beyond and you can count on low prices and fast shipping.

OEM Strings on my instrument
June 27, 2016
I thought at first it would be pretty difficult to change strings on my guitar, but after watching several videos, it's pretty simple. These are the strings that the manufacturer puts on my particular model and I like the sound they provide.
  • Great sounding!
  • None.

Surprised me!
May 5, 2016
I bought a new guitar recently, spruce top, that is generally brighter than the guitar I had, a cedar top. I tried carbon strings because that is what I was used to. I result was a bright ping no matter where I plucked. It was bright but dead. I went on to look for nylon instead of carbon. This set had the corum basses which I loved already for their projection and sound. I have to say, this set changed my mind on nylon strings. After a week of settling, the strings project well and balance well with the basses. (Of course, I lost a bit of volume in comparison to the carbon strings) I get a different tone depending on where I hit the strings. The strings didn't die after three days. I thought that impossible with nylon strings. This is mainly due to my multiple bad experiences with D'addario. I will still go on and try other nylon strings from other makers but I must say, I will come back to this one.
  • Project well.
  • Basses and trebles balance.
  • Smooth feel, not gritty.
  • Haven't died after a few days, unlike D'addario.
