The name says it all! Martinís Titanium Core strings use true Titanium for the core wire of this new breed of strings. And you can only get them from Martin! The Titanium core wire is round, not hex, and Titanium is more flexible than steel, providing a very comfortable playing experience while remaining strong and durable.

The plain strings are also unique to this product, as they are cryogenically treated stainless steel. The cryogenic treatment protects the string and brings out more brilliance

Martin Titanium Core strings deliver the ultimate playerís experience with patented technology only available from Martin. Experience a new level of comfort and response with industry leading stability and superior corrosion resistance.

Attributes
Core Wire: Round Titanium
Wrap Wire: Nickel
Plain Strings: Cryogenically Treated Stainless Steel

The Core
The name says it all! Martinís Titanium Core strings use true Titanium for the core wire of this new breed of strings. And you can only get them from Martin! The Titanium core wire is round, not hex, and Titanium is more flexible than steel, providing a very comfortable playing experience while remaining strong and durable.

The plain strings are also unique to this product, as they are cryogenically treated stainless steel. The cryogenic treatment protects the string and brings out more brilliance in the stainless steel, while the stainless steel itself provides enhanced flexibility and comfort.

The Wrap
Martin uses Nickel to wrap the Titanium strings. Nickel is naturally corrosion resistant and holds its tone for a very long time. The Nickel and Titanium work together to provide the ultimate corrosion-free string.

The Gauging
Due to the unique nature of Titanium, Martin crafts their Titanium Core strings around overall set tension instead of individual string gauges. While the gauge numbers of the individual strings on a light gauge Titanium Core set may vary slightly from Martinís other light gauge sets, the tension on the guitar top will be similar. The specific ratio ofcore-to wrap wire on each string provides the perfect marriage of comfort and tone.

The Process
Martin employs a unique process for making their Titanium strings that produces strings like nothing else on the market. This process allows Martin to use materials that have never been used before to make guitar strings. With every set, Martin offers the most consistent and securely wrapped strings, an attribute that affects every aspect of the stringís playability, endurance, and tone. Martin ensures improved coupling and consistent gaps between the round core wire and the wrap wire which results in superb intonation.

Very Good; I believe Titanium will find a Following
I ended up, for fun, buying the most expensive Martin strings, Titanium, and the cheapest (almost), the Phosphor Bronze Acoustic to compare. The Titaniums are close in tone to phosphor....I would say a step towards 80/20's in tone. The review done by Strings and Beyond is spot on. The feel, projection and sustain is very close to Phosphor Bronze and when switching between the two guitars that have the 2 sets that i bought it takes just moments for the ears to enjoy the slightly different tones. If these strings last 2 years it will be worth it for me. My hands are not corrosive so that is not a factor. But my local stores sold out of these Titaniums because people have "bad" hands bought up all the current stock. So there will definitely be a following there. Looks like these strings are a winner for the sweaty hands with a great tone to boot. If they do last a long time (as the testing suggests) Titaniums will have defiantly found a spot in the market. I can see these being great for a travel guitar, particularly in the tropics. Will this be my only string from here on? No. But, I will use these on my travel McPherson and one of the Martins. The other half dozen acoustics will get a sprinkling of Monels (retros) and regular uncoated strings.
ProsA tone we are familiar with, not too bright or too dark. Feels very close to Phosphor Bronze (uncoated)
ConsHigh price but if they last a long time it will be worth it for travel guitars and people with acidic hands.

Sweet Sounds Low & High - Martin Titanium Core Acoustic Strings -
I recently purchased my first set of Martin Titanium Strings (light) for my Taylor 814ce, knowing I'd be going out on a limb at $39.99. But so far I love them. The low E string has the sweetest, clearest sound of any low E string I've ever put on the guitar. The G, B & High E strings ring out with clarity too, but blend seemingly effortlessly with their lower companions. So it now only remains to be seen how long-lasting their life will be. Prior to trying the Titanium's I used Kurt Mangum Light which have a great timbre when new (although the low E of these can't compete with the Titanium's low E), but I had to change them a minimum of once every 3 months to hear their unique ring. If I can get double that life span or more, I'll have found a new, great sounding, and hopefully long-lasting, set of strings for my Taylor.

Good strings
One month of daily use and they still sound fairly new. Hold tune as well
