Not too shabby. A bit harsh.

Good strings
September 2, 2014
I have had two sets of John Pearse fiddle strings. I must say they are the best strings I have ever had. Once tuned they tuned. I have played all night and have not had to re-tune. But I'd like to buy 5 "A's" and not have to buy a complete set every time. I dought that I will ever wear out the "G" and "E" strings. Joel

Pearse Fiddle Strings - Good So Far
October 28, 2012
I have only had my John Pearse mediums on for five days so far, and one thing I judge strings by is how I like them after six months

I judge strings by these four things, in order of importance
1. How Do They Sound
2. How Do They Last
3. How Long Does It Take To Get Played-in
4. What miscellaneous problems do they present immediately or after six months

What I've found after five days is that they sound good, and play in pretty fast. Time will tell for the rest.

I re-strung on a Wednesday, and after about three hours of playing time, played a show with them that same Friday, with no tuning problems during a four hour show.

I'm not giving this rating all five stars simply because I haven't had time to see what I think long-term.

The most important dislikes usually show up within the first week, and so far, so good.
  • Sound
  • Short play-in time
