Sound and Play like Nickel Flats !
June 11, 2020
Just my opinion so far. These are smooth and play easily. I've used everyone's flats and if these hold up,
they're a winner. They've got almost a nickel flat sound and feel to them.

Not sure why Galli thinks these are flatwounds.
July 10, 2019
I bought a set of Galli's AJF1047 extra light "jazz flat" strings, on the expectation that these would be flatwounds. Galli might call them flatwounds, but they look & feel like D'Addario's "flat tops" - a mid-way hybrid between flatwounds and roundwounds. In comparison, Thomastik-Infeld's "Classic S Precision" flatwounds and Dogal's V25 "Nightclub" flatwounds are significantly smoother, without any of the squeak that I was getting on the Gallis.
Don't get me wrong, these are quality strings. They just shouldn't be called "flatwound."

ProsFull sound
ConsNot really flatwound
Rough texture, prone to squeaking
