The Best Picks I Have Found
I have been playing for 55 years and have probably tried the majority of the brands and styles of thumb picks for Chet Atkins style picking and the Fred Kelly Speed Picks in the light gauge have suited me better than anything that I have used. They are smooth and you get a natural sound.
ProsThey are slick enough that you can use them to play a mandolin.
ConsA little bit pricey compared to some of the other brands.

Perfect for my style and guitar
As I have aged and switched from classical to acoustic guitars, my strong fingernails are no longer up to the task. I used my old National fingerpicks on my last CD of my hymn arrangements for guitar, but you can hear the little ticks in the plucking. I have since switched to acrylic nails on my 3 picking fingers, but the acrylic thumb nail sounded wrong. The yellow (light) speed thumb pick gives me the tone I like on my Taylor 514CE with the DR Sunbeam light gauge strings. My little yellow pick is always in my pocket wherever I go.

Fred Kelly Delrin Medium Tumb Picks (orange)
I have played fingerstyle guitar since 1978 and I used every thumb pick made. I don't remember the first time I used them, but I never used another thumb pick after that. I was in a music store a while back and I asked if he had any. He quickly told me no. He then asked me to come by that night to hear a guitar rep play his brand x of guitars. I was playing but, the next day when I came back, he told me the famous picker that was the rep for brand x guitars was using Fred Kelly's. He ordered them after that.
Prosfast, sturdy, great fit
ConsThey get hooked on my car keys and I lose them all the time. LOL!

I found it difficult to play with...
It is not for my style...too bright and hard, I didn't find so much flexibility...
But that's my opinion...

The quality, although, it's fine. The price too

Now my preferred thumb pick
I have tried a great many thumb picks, and have settled on these Fred Kelly Delrin Speed Thumb Picks as my preferred model.

They feel comfortable. I like the action from the narrow plectrum. And the narrow plectrum produces a sound that blends better with the fingerpicks I use: the Fred Kelley delrin for guitar, or metal ProPiks for banjo.

Great Thumb Pick option to standard styles (Dunlop metal, etc)
Have used Dunlop metal thumb and finger picks for decades. These are a nifty option and oft less painful than the metal picks. Smaller picking tab makes for faster runs. Can file or snip tab to suit needs. Got all three gauges. I like Medium and heavy gauges for calming down bass end of tone, but I use all three.
ProsFit, weight, adaptable and sound great. Great deal
ConsNOt sure of durability but time will tell.
