D'Addario makes these 6-string tenor ukulele strings on its own monofilament extraction line designed specifically for the manufacture of musical instrument strings. The warm tone produced by these strings will give a similar sound to that of natural gut strings but will provide all the benefits of synthetic materials. They are more affordable and tend to be more durable.
