Cleartone EQ ? Hybrid Metal Acoustic Guitar Strings

Cleartone EQ?s are the first Acoustic Guitar Strings that blend a variety of metals into the ideal set to highlight your guitar?s frequency response. These strings enable ?perfect EQ setting?, where each wound string utilizes a different alloy to optimize that string?s natural frequencies. The Low E begins with a 99% copper-bronze to increase bass response, then Phosphor Bronze on the A & D strings which accentuate the mid range and maintain a robust low and high end. With 80/20 for the G string, you'll find it's bright characteristics and ability to cut through the mix. All together, Cleartone EQ?s produce an exquisitely balanced tone that mimics a ?perfect EQ setting? by joining all the best qualities of Phosphor bronze, 80/20, and Copper-bronze into a single set. Cleartone has created a hybrid metal acoustic set that is the first of it's kind!

I just put these on my Songwriter yesterday, and I really love the sound. Bear in mind that I typically hate the sound of new strings. They are loud, crisp and beautiful. The low E string doesn't boom quite like my John Pearse strings do, but I am hoping these will keep their sound longer due to the treatment Clear Tone applies to the strings. For a guy like me with sweaty hands, and a nice guitar these are some truly great strings. The highs shimmer without being tinny or shrill. The mids are full and present without cheapening the sound. The lows are present and beautiful without being in your face. That is the closest thing to a weakness I find with these is that I really like in your face bass. *note* I think my Pearse strings sound great for about a week then the bass goes flubby and damp. When they are in that sweet period for a week they make the ideal acoustic strings, flawless in every way. These offer something different, but exceptional. If they last, I'm converted.

After playing for 30 years and changing innumerable sets on innumerable instruments (in my capacity as a repair fella and luthier) - This is the set I've always wanted for my personal guitars. The bass response and mids are a joy - Treble strings aren't tinny or dull like many others and these didn't need to be played in before they sounded right. Now, after a week, they still sound glorious. I can't wait to mic the guitar and record a bit!
ProsEverything really Bass response and mids are superior pleasing treble no compromise with intonation
