Dunlop 5 string bass Nickle string set
Having used DR strings for the past few years I was always looking for a comparable string set for less money. Either used the Marcus Miller Fat Beams or the Hi-Beams and was happy with their sound but at around $35, the cost was a little tough to take. These Dunlop string sets fit the bill well for me.

I tried both this nickel plated set as well as the stainless steel set and for me the nickel set was just as bright as the stainless set. They have a punchy low end that is defined, a top end that is more stainless steel sounding (as in bright but not harsh) and a bit of a mid scoop tone which was surprising but worked out well with amp and bass controls set relatively flat.

They are easy to install, tune and tend to stay in tune with little stretching. Not hard on the fingers and remain consistent in tone for quite a while. Am very pleased with this set and for the price, will be my string of choice for quite a while.
