In a lifetime of music, Kacey Musgraves has established herself as one of the 21 st-century queens of country music. After a series of self-released albums and an appearance on the singing show “Nashville Star”, Kacey made her major label debut in 2012 — and it’s been all uphill from there. The Texas native has taken home seven Grammy Awards and seven CMA Awards while achieving crossover success on the level of divas like Carrie Underwood and Faith Hill.

If anyone was destined to be a star, it was Kacey. As a youngster, her band The Texas Two Bits made such waves that they performed at the inaugural ball for President George W. Bush. She started writing songs when she was eight years old, and she plays a whopping six instruments. She even won national yodeling competitions as a kid. Kacey Musgraves can do it all, and it’s no wonder she sits on top of the country world.

Known for writing songs with a classic sound and modern perspective, it’s no surprise Kacey would want the same from her strings. To that end, she uses D'Addario Nickel Bronze Acoustic Guitar Strings NB1253 Light 12-53 on her 1957 Gibson J-45. Kacey says the strings add to the old-school sound of this acoustic guitar, and while they’re long-lasting, they don’t have the initial harshness and overly bright tones that many new strings do. D’Addario NB strings are made using NY Steel cores to help keep them stable, and the strings are known for their rich balance and resonance.
