fourth string...
January 21, 2020
Bought six sets on sale as I really liked this brand (or strings with this brand name) when I lived in Spain in the 1980s. However, in three of the six sets, the fourth (D) string broke at concert pitch after a few weeks, spontaneously (not while I was playing). Have used D'Addario strings for 25-plus years and never had this happen. Pepe Romero is clearly a great player, but should not be endorsing this brand of strings IMO...

Aranjuez strings are best

In 1977 I purchased a guitar from luthier Hascal Haile thsr was owned and played by Chet Atkins. I asked Mr. Haile ehat strings wrre on it. He said Aranjuez AR300. I've used them ever since. They feel and sound better than any string on the market. The AR300 guage is my favorite for tone and vibrato.
They are simply the very best.
  • Best tone and vibrato is effortless. Last long time.

Aranjuez Silver 300 set

I've played classical guitar for almost twenty-eight years. I've played all of the brands you can think of--both old and new--and to me, nothing gets me the tone I really love like these strings do. I played D'Addario for years, then various Savarez sets, and then went through a couple of years of trying out the newer generation of strings that are made with different materials. Some of them were good, some okay, but none of them approach what these strings give me. Warmth, brilliance, smoothness, reliability, and long life. In case you're interested, I have two guitars--one with Euro spruce and Indian, and another with Euro spruce and Brazilian.
