Item Description

D'Addario EXP Coated 80/20 Bronze Acoustic Guitar Strings provide more sound per strum than traditional non-coated strings!

Strum the same strings from hit makers like Jackson Browne and Travis Toy of Rascal Flatts.

D'Addario EXP Coated 80/20 Bronze Acoustic Guitar Strings offer a deep, projecting acoustic tone, with bright intonation that make them popular for recording and have a "fret-friendly" round wound feel of traditional non-coated strings but last 3 to 4 times longer. The micro-fine EXP coating on the wrap wire, and the compound plated steel strings, resist corrosion, extending the same natural tone and feel you would get from the traditional D'Addario EJ 80/20 Bronze Acoustic Guitar Strings.

D’Addario’s EXP Coated Strings now feature plain steel strings and hexagonal cores made of our revolutionary NY High Carbon Steel. Envisioned, perfected, and manufactured by D’Addario in New York, this newly engineered, break-resistant, high-carbon steel wire delivers unprecedented strength and pitch stability. Combined with the highest quality wrap wire materials, precision drawn and micro-coated on our advanced proprietary machinery, each EXP set maintains that familiar uncoated tone while adding up to 4 times more life!

D'Addario has incorporated Corrosion Intercept Technology with their environmentally friendly packaging to insure your strings are green, and fresh for the pickin'!

The application of Corrosion Intercept Technology, developed by Lucent Technologies' Bell Labs, is the most significant development in string packaging since D'Addario pioneered the environmental string package in 1992. Each Corrosion Intercept bag employs a plastic which contains a gas-neutralizing barrier in the polymer matrix. This barrier reacts with and neutralizes gasses which cause materials to tarnish, guaranteeing that your D'Addario strings are as fresh and tarnish-free as the day we packaged them. Since Corrosion Intercept bags are both environmentally friendly and completely recyclable, they'll keep our planet untarnished as well.

Also, as a result of D'Addario's Player's Points Program, several tons of packaging redeemed for D'Addario gear gets systematically recycled every year.

All D'Addario packaging is either produced from recycled materials or is completely recyclable.

Al Schnier of Moe talks about D'Addario's environmentally friendly packaging.

Professional use
I've tried almost everything. These are the best combination between quality, durability and price. I'm playing them everyday and for the concerts (around 100/year).

Feel and sound like untreated strings but last much longer
Great sounding strings, feel like untreated strings. Probably don't last as long as Elixir strings but don't have that horrible slippy feel that they have. All round good value
ProsFell like normal strings Really nice tone

Great product
Great, consistent string w the feel of an uncoated string. They stay in tune well and the tone is great on my Taylor 814ce. Highly recommend.

fantastic string for rosewood backed instruments
since most solid rosewood back & sides guitars produce a strong low end, this set balances out the tonal spectrum wonderfully.
Proslast a long time tone wise. hold tune perfectly don't feel slippery like some other coated strings do

These Strings Made Me Switch from Elixir's!
I've been spending the "big bucks" (yes....even with the great prices offered by S.A.B.), on Elixir Phosphor Bronze Nanowebs for quite a while now. But, after trying these coated strings by D'AIddario, I'm switching my allegiance. These are fantastic strings for my Eastman AC-822, which is a Grand Auditorium-sized, Rosewood acoustic guitar. And they're about 5 bucks cheaper per-set!
ProsThey don't feel like coated strings. They feel like regular strings.

ProsGreat Value for a true coated/treated string
Consjust a tiny bit of overtones, but its subjective

The best on rosewood guitars.
Always consistant and predictible. Put them on and let the guitar sit for a day. Some people think 80/20 is to bright but after a day they settle in and sound better and stay that way. Not jangly like phoshor bronze but pure and clear and fundamental tone. There is not a better string for rosewood body guitars and some maple body guitars.
ProsConsistant tone.
ConsIt takes a day or so to settle them in,
