Item Description

It's not just an instrument; it's a work of art. Pamper it.

If it's one thing Martin knows, it's finely crafted and vintage instruments. Martin created their Marquis line to pamper your guitar by adding a soft thread wrap at the ball ends which prevent wear and tear on the bridge and end plate as you play. Our thread wrap puts a comforting layer of protection in place every time you change your strings.

"Like our guitars, each string is made carefully, precisely, using only premium materials." - Chris Martin IV

Martin & Co. designs and manufactures the strings themselves. Like their guitars, each string is made with patience, care, and precision with only the highest quality materials producing strings with exacting tone and superior performance. Not only are their packaging materials minimized and 100% recyclable, but the envelopes reduce the tarnishing effect on the strings.

My favorite...
I went on a string binge a while back, months after buying my first all solid-wood acoustic(Epi Masterbilt DR500M), in search of the perfect set. I had settled on Gibson's PB lights. Then, I put a set of Marquis PB lights on and, wow. A much improved, rumbling bass, great mid-range, crisp highs and sustain that I'd never heard on my dread. In my opinion, the wrapped ball end makes a huge difference in tone and sustain compared to the non-wrapped. At least, it did on my guitar.

Also, I wipe down strings after every play, which is around two hours everyday, and I can get these to last me a good three weeks to a month. That's saying something because I can destroy a set of strings in no time.
