Great strings for acoustic guitar
First time buying an acoustic guitar string set. I knew the Martin brand because of their acoustic guitars, so i gave these strings a try. They are great, and make my acoustic sound great again. I would buy these strings again
ProsCheap / affordable

Nice balance between Bass and Treble
There are now a lot of acoustic strings on the Market. I like lots of them for different things. However in my full time repair practice I use these strings exclusively on Steel String guitars - whether 11s, 12s, or 13s I find they are complimentary to most guitars and are consistent from packet to packet and that is important to me. Great for all styles and all levels of playing.

Best String on the market
I've tried every string out there and there is nothing that gives me that pure acoustic sparkle like the martin M140. I recommend these to everybody.

Very short life
Tried these only once but they were ok for few days but dead within a week. Totally dull low E and A strings. I didn't want to risk giving them another chance, but they are cheap, if you don't mind short life or you have an exceptionally bright guitar you may like them.

ridiculous value
These have that old-school, balance tone and feel. Sometimes, that's exactly what I want. I dig the 12.5 set for strumming and DADGAD fingerstyle. They aren't as loud as some I've tried, and they don't last quite as long for me either, but at this price, I'll just change them again. :-)

Fine Strings
I don't understand the attitude I sense from some who think of these as "everyday" strings - is there such a thing? I've used these since 1980 (along with many others) and still prefer these on some of my best guitars. They're superbly balanced, they last well, are loud without being brash, and - to me - they somehow just sound like guitar strings ought to sound. Big, gorgeous, wood-enhancing tone. I'd pay double, but I ain't telling anybody. OOPS!
ProsSound, playability, longevity. I can have new strings twice as often for the same money. : )
ConsI still don't like having two strings in one envelope. I far prefer having all six in one plastic envelope (a la D'Addario) - or one string to an envelope, the way God intended -- but not two in one. I change my strings one at a time usually - so imagine.

Really great strings
I really like the 12 and 12.5 sets for my Martin Custom 15 as they have a sparkle that few strings have. Great for bluegrass and folkie strumming as it really cuts through. And, the price is just silly.

Nice strings
Compared to my usual silk and steel strings these have a bright, metallic sound. Good volume, lots of sustain and overtones. Great price! The sound has really grown on me.
